Learning Support Services - Writing Skills Support

      Learning Support Services provides instruction and tutoring in basic English writing skills, including grammar, vocabulary, and spelling. Students are free to attend workshops or make an appointment for tutoring at any time.

      A referral system is also in place to help students find appropriate assistance. LSS works collaboratively with UC's Communication Resource Center (CRC). CRC writing consultants may refer students to the LSS Writing Skills Support program when they need help with basic writing skills or mechanics. Students may also be referred to LSS by faculty members. The freshman ICE communities will refer students who may need assistance with their COMM 101 and COMM 102 writing portfolios.

      Learning Support Specialist Catherine Moore supports student learning with a schedule of workshops and individualized, drop-in tutoring sessions.
