Assessment – of the academic program, of the students, and of the faculty – is an integral component of the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy curriculum. Constant assessment is crucial to assure students, alumni, and especially the people we care for that we are delivering on our commitment to educate the next generation of pharmacists.
By assessment, we mean the systematic and ongoing process for measuring, collecting, analyzing and using data to improve the school and improve student performance. A Comprehensive Assessment Plan (CAP) provides the framework and we use a wide variety of instruments to identify our strengths – and our areas for improvement. Assessment involves the total pharmacy community. Students, faculty and staff are involved throughout their time on campus, and our graduates provide continued feedback as they engage in professional practice.
