Career Placement

Faculty and staff are committed to working with MBAL students to obtain a job of choice upon graduation. Students work with faculty throughout the program to clarify professional aspirations and design a path towards a success launch of one’s career. Read about some of our recent graduates below.

Adam Craft MBAL '10

Sales Manager, Service Wire Co.

"It's a great feeling to have landed a job before graduation," says Adam Craft. "And not just any job, but a job that is right for me." Craft is a sales manager with Service Wire, a national company that manufactures and distributes wire and cable for a wide variety of industrial markets.

Craft credits his experience in the MBAL program with his career success. He interned with Uniworld Logistics during his international summer in Shanghai, China, and completed his professional practice with Clark International, a leader in military aftermarket equipment. He worked on an inventory management system that helped improve efficiencies in purchasing and pricing.

"I am convinced that my experiences with Uniworld and Clark helped me get the job with Service Wire," says Craft. "It is not an industry that I was even aware of when I started the MBAL program, but when they came to campus to recruit I realized what a great fit it is for me."

Chelsea Young MBAL '10

Marketing Specialist, McJunkin Red Man Corporation

"At the start of my MBAL program, I didn't imagine myself working in the industrial sector," says Chelsea Young. Young landed a marketing job with McJunkin Red Man, an international distributor of pipes, valves, and fittings to the energy and manufacturing markets.

"But the executives I met at one of our career development days really opened my eyes to the possibilities of a marketing career in that sector," she says. "I'm really excited to work with the people at McJunkin. I'm part of a very dynamic and creative team," she continued.

Young was a Fashion Design major in undergraduate school, and credits her MBAL professional practice experience with Mythology Marketing, as well as her mentor, with helping her combine her creativity with business practices.

Portfolio Manager, BB&T

Eric Morris knows the value of a UC MBAL degree. "My degree and education has given me the confidence, poise and aptitude to transition into a full-time professional role." Before graduation, Morris landed a job with BB&T, a large regional bank, as a portfolio manager.

"I had opportunities in larger cities, but the network of mentors and business contacts I developed here just couldn’t be matched elsewhere," he said. Morris completed an eight credit hour professional practice with BB&T in his final semester, where he worked with the regional president on government relations.

"My experience over the past semester prompted me to pursue a career with BB&T. I created great relationships with the staff and the company and feel I am best suited to grow in a career with BB&T."
