What is the Heritage Society?
University of Charleston is here today because generations of people have loved
Morris Harvey College and the University of Charleston, and made supporting it
a part of their lives. Because many of these gifts came through bequests, often
the University did not have the opportunity to show appreciation to the donors.
For this reason, the University of Charleston established the Heritage Society
in 1990 to recognize those who have made a commitment of any amount to UC
through bequests and other planned gifts.
Through the Heritage Society, the University recognizes and
thanks visionary donors, promotes the benefits of estate and financial
planning, and draws attention to the vital importance of building the
University of Charleston’s future.
