Selecting a Printer

  1. Click “Start” in the bottom left corner.
  2. Scroll up and click “Run.”
  3. Enter \\hermes\ in the box and click “Ok.”
  4. Double-click the appropriate printer name.
    • LibClass for the library classroom printer
    • Library9000 for the 3rd floor library printer
    • Library3 for the 4th floor printer
    • LibraryMain for the main library printer at the circulation desk
     
  5. Click “Printer” on the new window that appears and scroll down to select “Set as Default Printer.”
  6. Print as normal.

Using a Patron-Owned Laptop in Schoenbaum Library

  1. WiFi access in Schoenbaum library is not password protected.
  2. Patrons may either access the WiFi signal using 802.11b/g compatible wireless cards or by connecting to an active network port using an Ethernet cable.
  3. Patrons do not have access to network printing or network storage solutions (P: drive) when logged in on a patron-owned laptop.
  4. Library staff cannot provide support for patron laptops.

Turnitin.com

  1. Go to www.turnitin.com.
  2. Log on by entering your email address and password you used  when creating your user profile.
  3. Click the class name to access your class portfolio.
  4. Your class shows the assignments the instructor has created. To submit a paper, click the “Submit” button next the assignment.
  5. Enter the title of the paper.
  6. Click “Browse” and locate your paper, and click “Open.”
  7. Click “Submit.”
  8. A screen appears with the document. Confirm that this is the correct paper.
  9. The next page that appears is your digital receipt, which will also be sent to your email.
  10. A few minutes may pass before the originality report is complete, but when it is, you will see a colored icon next to the assignment.
  11. Click the colored icon to view a detailed account of the originality report. Each source is printed in a different color, with the sources at the top of your paper and the document printed in matching colors.
  12. There is also a colored icon at the top of your paper with the percentage of matching text noted. (The lower, the better!) The color scale range is: Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red. Blue is the most original, Red contains the most matches.
  13. To save the report if you are going to include it in an iWebFolio portfolio, click "Save."

Using Your iWebFolio Registration Card

  1. Go to iWebFolio.com.
  2. If you have your popup blocker turned on, you need to allow popups. Go to Tools > Popup Blocker > Always Allow Popups From This Site, or just turn the blocker off.
  3. Click “Sign Up Now.”
  4. Follow these directions. This is the information you will need:
    • Enter uoc for administration
    • The version is Version 3.
    • The payment method is by registration card. (Click the arrow next to “Credit Card” to open the dropdown box where you can make your selection.)
    • The serial number is the number on the left that you can see.
    • The registration code is the alphanumeric code beneath the tape. (The tape is very hard to get off; it is not like lottery ticket ink that you scrape off.)
  5. When you get logged in, click “Create a new portfolio.”
  6. Click “Yes” when asked if you want to use a template.
  7. The UC templates will appear. Select the one you want to use.
  8. When the empty portfolio is created, click it to edit.
  9. Select the Permission tab on the far right, click “Select All” and save.
  10. Select the Contents tab to look at the required elements and add your attachments.

Adding Files to Your iWebFolio Portfolio

  1. Click "Edit" next to the portfolio.
  2. Select the Contents tab.
  3. The required files are listed. Select the one to which you want to add.
    The assignment will show. Click "Add Attachment" on the right side. (Note: If other papers are also required with the assignment, such as a turnitin report, click their names when you have those files ready. Then click “Add Attachment” to add those files in the proper place.)
  4. When you click “Add Attachment,” the “My Files” folder opens. If the file you want to attach is not listed, click “Add New File”. (Note: Be sure that “File” is selected from the dropdown box up in the top left corner.)
  5. Click “Browse” to locate your file. Then click “Open” and the “Save.”
  6. Your file will appear in the list in “My Files.” Just click “Attach” and it will be added to your portfolio.
  7. All of the files you attach to your portfolio will also be filed in “My Files,” so you can add them to more than one portfolio, or delete a portfolio without deleting the files.
  8. To see how your portfolio will look and to make sure the files are attached as intended, click “View Portfolio” in the upper right corner.
