The University of Charleston is seeking an energetic and creative professional to start an Associate Degree Nursing Program on the Beckley Campus. This will be a new program.
The Chair must be a registered nurse with a graduate degree in nursing; doctorate preferred. Experience in starting new programs is preferred but not essential. Applicants must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a registered professional nurse in West Virginia. Further, the individual must have a minimum of five years professional nursing experience, two years of which should be in nursing education.
Applicants should have experience in leadership; budget administration; team-building; curriculum development; and accreditation. The individual must be able to function effectively with local, state, regional, and national agencies and organizations; work collaboratively with University administration and other governing bodies; and communicate successfully with a variety of constituencies. Above all, the Chair of the Associate Degree Nursing Program must be outcomes-oriented and student-centered.
