What is a CLEP exam?

CLEP exams are computer-based exams that allow students to prove mastery of college-level material in introductory subjects and earn college credit. 

Where can I take a CLEP exam?

CLEP exams are offered at the Charleston and Beckley UC campuses.

When can I take a CLEP exam?

CLEP exams are offered weekly on the Charleston and Beckley UC campuses. For specific dates see the registration site.

How do I register to take a CLEP exam?

Click here to register for a CLEP exam at a UC testing site. The exam date must be scheduled at least one day in advance. 

How much does a CLEP exam cost?

Each CLEP exam has an $80 testing fee paid by the students via debit or credit card on the day of the exam. There is a $25.00 proctoring fee for each CLEP exam. You will be charged the proctoring fee when you register for the exam.

What is a passing score on the CLEP exam? 

A passing score on a CLEP exam is specific to each institution. If you are not a UC student you will need to check with your institution for specific policies about acceptance minimums for CLEP exams.
