School of Pharmacy seeks applicants for Assistant I Associate
Professor faculty positions in the department of pharmacy practice. The School of
Pharmacy is an instrument of the University of Charleston, designed to
prepare pharmacists who will provide comprehensive patient care, advance the
profession through research and advocacy, and to serve the community as leaders
in
rural
health care. The School fosters active participation of faculty, staff
and students in an agenda of community outreach, advocacy, and activism
as one of the hallmarks of the pharmacy program. The
University of Charleston's Pharmacy School offers an integrated curriculum that
seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners who are able to effectively
communicate with diverse populations and work as an integral member of the
healthcare delivery team.
The faculty positions are
full-time, non-tenure track (rank and salary commensurate with skills and experience). Faculty
members are expected to support the vision and mission of the School of
Pharmacy through teaching in the professional pharmacy curriculum
(didactic and experiential), providing clinical pharmacy
services to a practice site, participating in scholarly activities, being an
active member of School of Pharmacy committees, and improving patient
health outcomes in the state and region. Applicants interested in faculty
practice within an Acute Care (e.g. Critical Care, Internal Medicine) or Ambulatory Care
environment are encouraged to apply.
Qualified candidates should have
the Pharm.D. degree, completion of a one or two year pharmacy residency (or
equivalent practice experience), and be eligible for licensure in West Virginia (or appropriate
sate if location of practice is outside of WV). A high degree of knowledge of standards and
current trends in pharmacy practice, particularly in the area of expertise and
previous academic experience is highly desired. Board Certification in the
respective area of expertise is also desired. Additional information
