The University of Charleston is proud to offer active members of the West Virginia Army and Air National guard the opportunity to further their educations with the financial support of the Golden Eagle Scholarship.
After graduating from Advanced Individual Training (AIT), an active National Guard member qualifies for the scholarship, which is currently $11,500 per year in undergraduate scholarship aid to attend UC.
Students who enter UC’s Master of Business Administration and Leadership (MBAL) program may also qualify for $7,500 in tuition assistance.
According to Dr. Edwin Welch, president of UC, “The self-discipline and responsibility required to be a member of the armed forces gives these students a great foundation for success in college. This is our way of opening the doors wider to the men and women who serve our country in the National Guard.”
The University of Charleston offers convenient online classes for military personnel, military spouses and veterans. We are also approved to accept the GI Bill educational benefits, and participate in Chapter 33 benefits, including the Yellow Ribbon program.
