Due to the threat of inclement weather on Sunday, May 1, 2016, the University of Charleston Spring Commencement Ceremony will now be held at the Charleston Civic Center in downtown Charleston.
The University is recognized for the beautiful on-site location of its outdoor commencement ceremony which overlooks the Kanawha River, so the decision to move the event has not been an easy one. Due to a record number of graduates, however, our indoor facilities for such a ceremony simply do not have the space to accommodate the friends and families of our graduates in case of rain. Despite this change, the other aspects of the day will remain the same.
A full schedule can be found below:
10:30 AM (Riggleman Hall - Rotunda, UC Campus) – Graduate Check-In. This will occur on-campus as previously planned, providing our graduates an opportunity to take pictures and to receive final instructions.
11:30 AM (Various locations on the UC Campus) – Reception Ceremonies. The time and location of these program specific receptions will not change.
