2007 Women's Soccer All-WVIAC squad
PRINCETON, W.Va. University of Charleston senior defender Andrea Cooper was named to the 2007 Women's Soccer All-WVIAC squad, the conference announced on Nov. 11.

UC was also represented on the All-WVIAC Second Team by sophomore goalkeeper Whitney Sharp, sophomore forward Sharon Lapinsky and freshman midfielder Holly Dalton. Bailey Bryant, a Golden Eagles' junior defender was a All-WVIAC Honorable Mention selection.

West Virginia Wesleyan captured two of the top three West Virginia Conference soccer awards as voted upon by league head coaches. Bobcat junior forward Katie Schubert is the Player of the Year, while head coach Glenn Francis was honored by his peer as the Coach of the Year. Davis & Elkins' high-scoring rookie Cole Dant was awarded Freshman of the Year accolades.

Schubert helped the Bobcats reach the NCAA Tournament with a team-leading 15 goals. The Montrose, WV native added three assists for 33 points on the season. The former Philip Barbour HS standout has also been selected to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Great Lakes Region first team.
Dant made an immediate impact during her first season at D&E with a league-leading 29 goals. The Elkton, MD native currently stands fifth in Division II in goals and has been named to the Daktronics all-region first team. Her efforts helped the Senators improve to 11-9-2 overall as they captured a WVIAC playoff spot.

Francis completed his rebuilding job of the proud West Virginia Wesleyan program as the Bobcats won the WVIAC Southern Division and WVIAC Tournament championships. The third-year head coach owns a mark of 27-28-3 following this season's 16-5-2 record. The 1998 Mercyhurst graduate is a native of Antigua and earned Division II honors as a player during his own collegiate career.
WVIAC Tournament finalists West Virginia Wesleyan and Wheeling Jesuit dominate the first team all-conference picks with a combined nine selections, led by Wesleyan's five honorees.

Goalkeeper Lauren Hessian, defender Alanna Torrey, and midfielders Ashley Rees and Meghan Zayas join Schubert on the first team from WVWC. Wheeling Jesuit was represented by keeper Lauren Lewicki, forward Lindsay Getz, midfielder Hannah Walker, and defender Laura Bruno.
Concord's Jenny Cleland and Dant were the other first team forwards. Laura Ciccone of Concord was the fourth midfielder selected to the squad. Defenders Katie MacGregor (Davis & Elkins), Alisha Moulton (Seton Hill), Megan Davies (Concord), and Andrea Cooper (Charleston) round out the first team all-league squad.

Getz, who completed her career as the all-time assist leader at Wheeling Jesuit, earned her fourth first team All-WVIAC selection. The Concord trio of Cleland, Ciccone, and Davies are three-time picks on the league's top squad. Bruno, Moulton, Cooper, and Rees are repeat selections from the 2006 All-WVIAC first team.
