
Pike Named WVIAC Player of the Week

Charleston's Rachel Pike (Jr., F) was named the WVIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 12-18. The Madison, OH native averaged 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in UC's victories over Belmont Abbey and Lincoln Memorial to help lead the No. 4 nationally ranked Golden Eagles to an 8-0 season mark.
The former Madison High School standout shot 65-percent from the floor on a 13-for-20 shooting effort on the week. Pike scored a game-high 14 points on a 6-of-9 shooting night in UC's win over Lincoln Memorial on Saturday and tossed in 16 points against Belmont Abbey on December 14.
For her performance at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation hosted by Indiana University (PA) from Nov. 25-27, Pike was named to the All-Tournament Second Team. The junior forward currently ranks 8th in the WVIAC in defensive rebounds per game, 9th in field goal percentage, and 15th in average total rebounds per game.
