Women's Basketball

The University of Charleston has been selected as the No. 1 team in the NCAA Division II women's basketball ranks according to College Hoops Illustrated. The Golden Eagles, who return five starters from last season's Elite Eight club, opened their season Nov. 15 with a victory at Clarion. The team then traveled to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Classic on Nov. 25-27 hosted by Indiana (Pa.) going 3-0 by defeating Indiana (Pa.), California (Pa.), and West Chester. 

Senior forward Lisa Lee (Charleston, WV/Capital High School) was also picked as one of the magazine's five "Players to Watch."
