Lee Named WVIAC Player of the Week for the Third Straight Week
February 8, 2005

Charleston's Lisa Lee was named the WVIAC women's basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 31- February 6.

Lee (6-0, Jr., F, Charleston, WV) earned the award for the third straight week and has won the award a total of four times this season.  The outstanding forward averaged nearly a double-double on the week with 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game in victories against West Virginia Wesleyan and West Liberty State.

The former Capital HS standout racked up another double-double on the season with 23 points and 11 rebounds versus West Virginia Wesleyan last Monday and added a 27-point effort in Saturday’s rout of West Liberty. Lee connected on 16-of-28 field goals and 18-of-23 free throws as UC ran their win streak to 14 games.

UC currently touts an undefeated conference record of 13-0.  With an overall record of 20-2, the Golden Eagles are also undefeated at Eddie King Gym.  Sherry Winn's squad is looking to move up in the national rankings from their #14 position and hold onto to their current #1 ranking in the East Region in hope of securing the opportunity to host the East Region Tournament to be held March 11,12, and 14.
