February 22, 2005
Charleston junior Lisa Lee has been named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for February 14-20. This is the fifth time this season Lee has earned the award. Lee won her first Player of the Week Award on Nov. 29 and then won the award for three consecutive weeks between Jan. 24 and Feb. 7, tying a WVIAC record for the most consecutive weeks of winning the honor.
Lee (6-0, Jr., F, Charleston, WV) accounted for 23.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game as her Golden Eagles knocked off Wheeling Jesuit and WVU Tech on the week moving UC's conference record to 16-1. The Eagles are 23-3 overall and were undefeated at home throughout the regular season. Lee's 27 point, 11 rebound effort in a 91-66 victory over Kanawha Valley rival WVU Tech on Saturday marked the Capital HS grad’s ninth double-double of the season.
