
UC’s Lee Named First-Team All-America

University of Charleston’s Lisa Lee was named to the first team of the Daktronics Division II All-America women’s basketball team Tuesday as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Late Tuesday, Lee was also named to the Kodak All-America squad as selected by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Lee, a former Capital High School standout, averaged 18.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals this season in leading the Golden Eagles to their second straight NCAA Division II Elite Eight national tournament.
The 6-foot senior forward was also named the West Virginia Conference and East Region player of the year. Lee, who was honorable mention last year, was the only UC player to garner All-America consideration. Glenville State senior Denae Dobbins was selected honorable mention.
Joining Lee on the first team were Wingate junior Tanetra Barrett, Wasburn senior Jennifer Harris, St. Cloud State junior Erika Quigley and Grand Valley State senior Niki Reams. Harris, a 5-10 senior guard, was chosen as the national player of the year after averaging a Division II-best 23.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.8 steals.
Reams, who averages 17.2 points, 7.0 boards and 2.2 steals, will square off against Lee and UC at 9 tonight in the Elite Eight quarterfinals in Hot Springs, Ark.
