The University of Charleston women’s basketball team has started this season where it hopes to end it: as the No. 1 team in NCAA Division II.
College Hoops Illustrated recently gave the Golden Eagles the top spot, and named Capital grad and UC senior Lisa Lee as one of their "Players to Watch." All five starters return from last year’s team that advanced to the D-II Elite Eight.
Concord (2-1) will get a good look at UC (4-0) Saturday night at Eddie King Gym when play tips off at 7:30. The Golden Eagles have outscored their opponents this year by 13 points per game en route to a perfect record. The Mountain Lions return West Virginia Conference freshman of the year Samm Nester.
