SATURDAY
UC freshman Tareena Dixon turned in a double-double in her first college game but it wasn’t enough as D-II No. 11 ranked Indiana (Pa.) downed the Golden Eagles 67-53 in Saturday afternoon’s opening round of the Tipoff Classic. Dixon tallied 15 points and 15 rebounds as the Golden Eagles fell in their season opener. Junior forward Jihan Williams added 16 points, six boards and five steals for UC.

UC held a 31-30 lead at halftime, but that didn’t hold up as the Eagles shot just 24.2 percent (8-of-33) from the floor in the second half and 11 percent (2-of-17) on 3-pointers. UC finished with 25 turnovers.
