Two standout recruits sign with UC

 

CHARLESTON, WV –The University of Charleston Women’s Tennis team has received NCAA National Letters of Intent from two outstanding student-athletes who will compete for the Golden Eagles beginning this fall.

 

Alexa Kay of Nitro, WV and Christina Samoilov of Toronto, Ontario join UC as incoming freshmen for the 2007-08 school year.

 

“They’re both a good fit for our program  - academically and athletically,” said UC head coach Shari Reed. “I’m looking forward to working with them. With two All-Conference players having graduated this spring, we are reloading with the intent on competing for another conference championship.”

 

The University of Charleston tied for first place in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) in 2006 and had three first team All-Conference players. UC is currently ranked No. 10 in the Great Lakes Region.
