Skelley Named WVIAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week

The University of Charleston's Katy Skelley was named a WVIAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week for the week of October 17-23.  Skelley (6-0, So., MH) compiled a .467 hitting percentage on the week as the Golden Eagles defeated Salem International and Alderson-Broaddus to remain undefeated in conference play at 15-0.  The Canton, OH native had 27 kills in the two matches and also accounted for 1 block solo, and 8 block assists on the week.

Skelley shares this week's honor with Fairmont State's Keri Blank (5-7, Jr., S, Charleston, WV).  Blank averaged 13.7 assists and 2.3 digs per game on the week.  The former Capital High School standout setter recorded 55 assists and 14 digs in Fairmont's five-game win over West Virginia Wesleyan.

Other nominees: Salem International's Andrea Bokun (29 kills in loss to Fairmont State), Shepherd's Kristy Cramer (44 assists in win over Ohio Valley), Wheeling Jesuit's Ashley Newcomer (28 kills in win over West Virginia State), and West Virginia Wesleyan's Casey Karcesky (23 kills in two matches), and West Virginia State's Allison Kunath (24 kills in 1-1 week).
