Skelley named to 2007 AVCA All-Region Team

University of Charleston middle blocker Katy Skelley has been named to the 2007 AVCA All-Great Lakes Region honorable mention team.

“Katy receiving All-Region honors on the Honorable Mention team is huge,” said UC head coach Bren Stevens. “It’s big because this is the first player I have placed on an All-Region team since we left the Atlantic Region. I am pumped to get a player finally recognized.”

Skelley was selected as the WVIAC Player of the Year in 2007.

She led the Golden Eagles to three NCAA Regional tournament appearances in her four years at UC, including a 2007 trip to the regionals in Allendale, Michigan last week. UC lost in the opening round to eventual champion and host Grand Valley State.
