Swann Representing UC at NCAA National Track Meet

University of Charleston senior Candace Swann (Waldorf, MD) has qualified for the NCAA DII National Outdoor Track & Field Championship.  Swann is currently ranked 16th in the Discus Throw. She will compete at the event, held at Emporia State in Kansas on Saturday.

Swann is a two-time NCAA Division II All-American.

In March, Swann was selected as the NCAA Division II Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year for the East Region. She competed in the 20-pound weight throw at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Boston on March 11 and placed third with a throw of 56 feet 10 inches. Swann's career best throw is 60 feet 4½ inches
