Swann Qualifies for NCAA DII Championship

The University of Charleston men's and women's track and field teams finished third and sixth respectively at the Cedarville University Collegiate Indoor Invitational this weekend.

Candace Swann of UC claimed first place in the women's weight throw, collecting 10 points for her toss of 60-04.50 (18.40m).  Swann's throw also automatically qualified her for the NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships to be held March 10-11 in Boston, Mass.

The Golden Eagles travel to Virginia Tech on Feb. 17 for their next meet.
