UC Men Edge Ohio Valley

Isaac Counts and Mark Broyles had goals Thursday night as the University of Charleston men’s soccer team earned a 2-1 West Virginia Conference road win over Ohio Valley.

Counts’ score came in the first half and gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 halftime edge. Marwan Helal had the second-half goal for the Fighting Scots (3-3-7, 0-1).

Keeper Brent Wilson stopped six shots for UC (2-8, 2-0), which led in shots on goal 15-6.

UC plays host to Wheeling Jesuit at 3 p.m. Saturday at Blackwell Field.
