MARS HILL, NC - Daniel Waymont and David Fiest each recorded a goal and a assist to lead the Lions' men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over the University of Charleston on Sunday afternoon at Meares Stadium. MHC improved to 3-1 on the year while Charleston fell to 1-3-1 on the season.

Waymont scored the first goal in the contest off a pass from Fiest at the 37:20 mark. Mars Hill would hold that advantage the rest of the first half.

Charleston's Callum Jenkins tied the contest at 1-1 at the 56:05 mark off a deflection. Fiest gave MHC the lead back hitting a remarkable shot from about 45 yards out.

Chad Quinn hit the match winner off a cross from Waymont 74:10 into the contest. Adam Wolf trimmed the Lions lead to just a single goal (3-2) two minutes later (74:36) but that was as close as Charleston could get.

MHC out shot Charleston, 25-to-11. Josiah Larson played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lions and made three saves. Brent Wilson also played the entire match in the net for Charleston and made six saves.
