What's the best thing about reaching 300 wins in a coaching career? Going after No. 301.
At least, that's the way University of Charleston Coach Greg White looks at it.
White got his 300th career victory in UC's 81-73 win over Bluefield State at Eddie King Gym Monday night.
"It's really good to get the milestone behind me,'' White said. "It's a reflection of a lot of good players and a lot of good coaching opportunities.
"There's not a whole lot of time to think about it. It's good to get 300 and it's time to move on to 301."
Marquis Brooks led five Golden Eagles in double figures with 21 points.
Austin Weatherington scored 20 points for Charleston (8-7, 4-3 West Virginia Conference), Dustin Kinney added 14, Warren Wallace contributed 11 and Robert Strickland had 10 points.
Bluefield led, 26-25. at halftime, but Charleston caught fire in the second half, hitting 63 percent (17-of-27) of its shots from the floor, compared to 40.9 percent in the first half.
Omar London led Bluefield (6-9, 2-4) with 21 points.
Logan Shortridge added 15 points, Mario Thompson scored 12 points and Shannon Thomas had 10 points.
