UC edges WV State in fall tennis action
The University of Charleston Men’s tennis team defeated West Virginia State 5-4 on Tuesday. After doubles, UC was up 2-1, winning 2nd and 3rd doubles. State quickly moved ahead with wins at 1st and 2nd singles. UC regained the lead with wins at 3rd and 4th singles. The deciding match was won by UC’s Carlo Sciara (#5) who one the first set 6-0. After letting a 5-0 lead slip away, Sciara closed out the match by breaking Joe Toler’s serve to win the second set 7-5 and give the Golden Eagles their 5th and deciding point.
