(PRINCETON, W.VA)-  Defending champion Shepherd heads up the field as West Virginia Conference men's tennis squads gather in Charleston on Thursday to decide 2006 netter supremacy.  The Rams are 7-0 against league opposition this season and have won 49 straight matches versus WVIAC foes.

Five of the six members of the Rams lineup currently own unbeaten conference marks in singles action.  Casey Moser (#1), David Seifarth (#2), Eric Stevenson (#4), Andy Bosco (#5), and Scott Hasenei (#6) are the SU players with unblemished marks in singles play.

West Liberty State (6-1), Salem International (6-2), and West Virginia Wesleyan (6-2) each seek to end Shepherd's run of success.  WLSC, who won the 2003 WVIAC title, only has dropped a 6-3 decision to Shepherd in WVIAC play.  The Toppers are led by Justin Thomas and Dan Riske at the top two singles positions.  Freshman Sam DeSimone is unbeaten out of the #3 singles position.

Salem International lives up to its name with an all-international lineup.  The Tigers boast a potent doubles pairing as Kim Kanginadhi and Sladjan Radic are 9-0 at #1 doubles.  The duo each own 8-1 marks in singles.

Seniors Dominick Mack and Kyle Hoffman pace West Virginia Wesleyan.  The Bobcats also have a dependable presence at #2 singles with junior Mike Higgins.

Concord, Charleston, and Fairmont State seek to play the spoiler's role.  Each squad boasts in-state standouts at #1 singles.  Concord's Matthew Stonestreet hails from Bluefield, Charleston's Michael Bumgarner is from Logan, and Fairmont State's David Marquette is a Martinsburg native.
