Robert Gabriel III is currently a junior at UC majoring in political science with a minor in experiential leadership.  He is a member of the UC men's soccer team.  Although soccer helped to bring Gabriel to UC, he already had gained a tremendous amount of basketball coaching experience. The Toledo, OH native got his start in coaching at the University of Toledo, working with Head Coach Stan Joplin of the Rockets, and has hopes of possibly one day pursuing his own basketball coaching career.

Gabriel contributes to the team in a variety of ways.  He developed the concept of the publication of a monthly men's basketball newsletter, "Coach Gabriel's Corner" as well as some other team publications.   While performing other duties related to the team's performance on the court, Gabriel is there in whatever capacity is needed to help support and promote Golden Eagle basketball.

Coach Gabriel's Comments:
"While working with the University of Toledo men's basketball team, I developed a keen interest in coaching.  As a student assistant coach here at UC, I can gain some solid coaching experience at the collegiate level and quite possibly continue coaching when I graduate.  Greg White is very knowledgeable of the game and I look forward to learning a whole lot from him."
