Nate Barner joins the Golden Eagles coaching staff for his first season in 2004.  However, Barner is no stranger to UC basketball.  As an undergraduate student at UC, Barner was a member of the basketball team.  He brings experience to the squad he gained while a player as well as a coach at the high school level.

The Fairmont, WV native obtained his undergraduate degree in mass communications in 1999 and has been busy coaching ever since.  He coached basketball and football at George Washington High School in Charleston, WV for three years, before joining Coach White's staff as an assistant.

 Coach Barner's Comments:
"Filling this assistant position is a wonderful opportunity to gain some collegiate experience as a basketball coach.  Furthermore, it feels great to coach at my alma mater."
