
UC's Todd pacing field after first day at Wheeling Jesuit Invitational

Michael Todd has a six shot lead among individuals after one day of play at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational, which began Monday, Sept. 25 at the par-70 Moundsville Country Club. His effort has UC in a three-way tie for second place, just two shots behind the leader in team play.
Clarion University has four golfers in the top 15 as the team sits atop a crowded leaderboard after 18 holes at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational. Clarion's 297 team total is a scant two shots ahead of three teams in a tie for second place University of Charleston, California (PA), and host Wheeling Jesuit. Millersville (300), Fairmont State (301), and Shepherd (301) are all within four shots of the lead.
The individual story is all Michael Todd. The University of Charleston senior fired a five-under par 65 and holds a six shot lead heading into the final round. Jon LaDovico (Cal), Matt Schwalm (WJU), Chuck Spaine (WJU), Brian Snow (Shepherd), and Jesse Hiddleston (Concord) are in a five-way tie for second with one-over 71's.
