Cipolat and Fields Win WVIAC Scholar Athlete Awards

Seniors Erin Cipolat (Track/Cross Country, Biology) and Kyle Fields (Football, Finance) were announced as the University of Charleston's selections for the 2005-06 First Community Bank/WVIAC Senior Scholar Athlete awards in a release provided by the WVIAC Office yesterday.  A male and female athlete that has demonstrated proficiency in the classroom and as well as in competition is selected from each member institution. All award winners must compile at least a 3.3 grade point average.

Sixteen of the 30 award winners from throughout the institutions in the conference are West Virginia natives, including Fields (Hurricane, W.Va.) and Cipolat (Beckley, W.Va.) of UC.  All winners will be honored at the 2006 WVIAC Basketball Tournament at the Charleston Civic Center.
