NCAA East Region Tournament
March 8, 2006

The University of Charleston is hosting the
2006 NCAA East Region Women's 
Basketball Tournament March 10-13.
The No. 3 nationally ranked Golden Eagles
earned the right to host by finishing atop
the final NCAA East Region standings.

Charleston defeated Wheeling Jesuit 90-88 in one of two NCAA Women's Basketball East Region semifinal games Saturday night in Charleston. In the other contest, Glenville State established a school record with their 30th victory of the season as the Pioneers ran past Anderson (SC) 94-76. These wins set up the first all-West Virginia Conference championship battle in East Region history when No.6 nationally-ranked GSC clashes with No. 3 nationally-ranked Charleston for the third time this season.

If you would like to request a Media Pass, in order to provide coverage of the tournament, please e-mail jennifermoore@ucwv.edu. Radio, television, newspaper, and photographers must have a media pass in order to gain access to Press Row and other reserved "Media Only" areas.

Pickup for credentials will be at the "Team, Media, and Staff Entrance" at Eddie King Gym beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10.  Signs will be posted to provide assistance in locating the area.
