UC Admission - Meet Our Students

Meet Our Students: Diana Pana

Graduated December 2006, now working on Accelerated MBA at UC
Major: Business Administration

What advantages did "Learning Your Way" provide you?
I graduated in 2 and a half years without having to take summer classes, or coming with any credits from high school. UC offers students the great possibility of graduating in less than 4 years if, of course, students want to take more than 15 credit hours a semester. I think that is GREAT!
I focused more on my major and got the required ICONS [requirements] through other different activities/organizations that I was involved with. There is a lot of "double-dipping" possible....you just have to know how to make your credits work for you.

What on-campus activities are you involved in?
The Eagle, school newspaper, editor & layout/design
SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise), President
International Student Organization, Secretary & Advisor
Peer Educator
Student Ambassador Association, VP
Junior and Senior Senator, Student Government Association
Residence Hall Association
Service Learning Intensive Course (SLIC)

Please tell us about the overall atmosphere of the campus. What are the students like and what do you do for fun?
The overall atmosphere is GREAT. Everyone is very friendly starting with students, faculty, advisors, and even administration (from the dining hall staff to security). Being from another country (Romania) I was a little scared before I came here, but everyone knew my name and everyone was expecting me here from Day 1. It was great. That is the reason I am still at UC getting my Masters now. Everyone is very open to ideas, and accepts them. I am going to be really sad when I leave. I am going to miss it a lot.
