Attending college in the U.S. is more than just getting a degree. You learn from "campus life" as well, and better yet, you make friends and lasting memories.
Residence Life
If you choose to live on campus at UC, you'll have a variety of living options. Students live in double sized rooms with roommates, double sized rooms without roommates, or single sized rooms. Residence life includes camaraderie with your roommates and hallmates, which is fostered by planned activities and leadership. Some friendships formed in the residence halls last a lifetime!
Sports
UC offers varsity level athletics (against other colleges) in all the major sports: Baseball, Basketball, American Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, or Volleyball, Crew, Cross Country and Track & Field. Learn more about our winning UC athletics.
Special Interest Clubs
International students become members of every sort of club and organization, including, of course, the International Student Organization, which promotes the value of having different cultures (like yours) on our campus. There are also academic organizations in most majors. Some examples: Concert Choir, Mass Communications Club, Political Science Association, Professional Business Society, and Psychology Club. You enhance your classroom work through these groups, and have fun in the process!
Host Families
Volunteer families in the city of Charleston provide a feeling of "home away from home" for international students. During school vacations, these families provide special social opportunities and cultural interaction.
