What is Radiologic Technology?
A Radiographer, or Radiologic Technologist, is a health professional who is skilled in the scientific use and clinical application of medical radiation (commonly referred to as x-rays) for the purpose of producing ../images of human anatomy using film and computerized equipment. The images are used by radiologists and other physicians for diagnostic purposes in hospitals, clinics, and physician's offices. The radiographer processes film, performs quality control, maintains radiation protection, and is responsible for patient assessment, patient care,  and patient education.

Is the field of Radiologic Science a safe field?
The profession of Radiologic Science is very safe for technologists if they follow proper radiation safely procedures which are taught and enforced in all conscientious well-developed programs. Physicians work in the radiation environment as well as the technologists and proper radiation safety procedures are followed. All radiation professionals are monitored monthly to ensure radiation exposure is kept to a minimum.
