The Pre-Pharmacy Program

Pharmacists play a vital role in today’s health care system.  Because of their important responsibilities in such a thriving industry, pharmacists choose from an array of excellent career opportunities.  In fact, the demand for pharmacists has skyrocketed in recent years and shows no signs of slowing down.

The University of Charleston stands ready to provide you with the pre-pharmacy coursework and experiences you need to:

• Earn preferential consideration for the University’s new four-year professional graduate program
• Earn the Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.), and
• Begin a challenging, rewarding career as a professional pharmacist.

The Pre-Pharmacy Program offered by the Department of Natural Science and Mathematics is designed to prepare the student for admission to and success in pharmacy school.  There are two tracks in the Pre-Pharmacy program at UC:  Pre-Pharmacy Scholars and Traditional Pre-Pharmacy.
