Capito Association of Nursing Students (CANS)
The Capito Association of Nursing Students, commonly called CANS is the official student nurse’s organization at UC. ADN and BSN students have opportunities to work together in various social, professional and service oriented activities. Activities include providing parties for children in a local homeless shelter and sponsoring blood drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross. UC nursing students attend local and national meetings of the National Student Nurses Association. They have most recently been to Phoenix, Arizona; Nashville, Tennessee; and Baltimore, Maryland.
