Working In The Schools

Field experiences in diverse school settings begin with the freshman year. These placements allow the teacher candidate to observe the classroom environment, to practice newly acquired teaching skills and to positively impact K-12 student learning. They begin with observation and progress to working one-on-one with a variety of students and advance to teaching small groups. Prior to full-time student teaching, the teacher candidate has a significant micro-teaching experience in a public school placement within the content certification area.
