    About Business Administration

    The world of business is fast paced, global and growing. And if your goal is to be part of this exciting world, our Business Administration major prepares you to meet the challenges of today’s business environment. You’ll be prepared for a career in a global community of rapid and constant change, and to provide leadership to a small business or a large corporation. Our uniquely designed program focuses on specific functional areas, so that you can meet your own goals, and be prepared for successful internships during your undergraduate years.

     

     

    What You'll Learn

    To prepare you to realize your business goals, you will study a wide range of accounting and business related topics, with an emphasis on problem-solving, analytical thinking and technology skills. You can also choose to focus on a marketing or management, and/or choose a specialization to further hone your skills. You can choose specialization/certifications in Financial Planning, Project Management and Lean Six Sigma (Green and Black Belt). Add a minor in Entrepreneurship to develop the knowledge to guide or start a small business.

    (All students in the School of Business and Leadership must take and pass the Educational Testing Service’s Major Fields Achievement Test for Business in the last semester of their senior year.)

     

    Admission Requirements

    Students must gain general admission to the University of Charleston. A visit to campus to meet with Admissions personnel and program faculty is strongly encouraged.

    Enactus

    Enactus (formerly SIFE) is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world.

    UC’s Enactus program is very involved both on and off campus, and accounting majors have been active participants and leaders. Recent projects address financial literacy and success skills, environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship, business and personal ethics, and market economics.
