The University of Charleston is seeking candidates for the position of Sport Administration Professor.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree mandatory. A doctorate in Sport Administration (Ed.D or Ph.D) is preferred. Three years of teaching experience at the college level, utilizing appropriate technology in course delivery. The ability to teach across disciplinary boundaries is essential. Primary teaching responsibilities will include four (4) classes each semester in the following areas: sports information, sports law, sports marketing, facilities management and general administration/business. The candidate will assist in attaining national certification for the athletic administration program by the (SMPRC) approved standards through NASSM. It is anticipated the successful candidate will assume program management and coordination activities within the first two years; including the preparation of internal assessment reports, proposals associated with curriculum and program design while supporting institutional service activities. Additional expectations include active participation in advising and mentoring undergraduates in the program.
