he University of Charleston School of Pharmacy is seeking a full time Instructional Technologist to provide support for the School of Pharmacy.
Duties of the Instructional Technologist include: working collaboratively with faculty, course directors and clerkship directors to improve instruction; using computer-based technology in curricular delivery; faculty development providing educational consultation regarding e-Learning to faculty on an individual basis and in groups and providing leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of faculty/residents/staff development seminars and workshops.
Applicants should possess an advanced degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum/Instructional Development, Instructional Technology, or Educational Technology; a background in teaching and learning theory; experience in instructional design within higher education; experience in the design, development and implementation of instructional web-delivered coursework. Experience in medical/pharmaceutical education and familiarity with computer mediated instruction is preferred.
Applicant must be dependable and possess a professional demeanor, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a proven ability to adapt and learn new educational processes and a willingness to continually explore new ways to improve teaching, learning, and assessment. In addition, the candidate should be self-motivated and have strong information organizational skills.
