Unique Opportunity/New Graduate Program
Preparing and Enabling Great Leaders
The University of Charleston Graduate School of Business in Charleston, West Virginia, invites applications for two, 12-month, full-time faculty positions. This new and unique Master of Business Administration & Leadership program is an outgrowth of the University of Charleston’s dynamic Executive Masters of Business Administration program and replicates many of the tenets of the University’s highly successful School of Pharmacy.
The Graduate School of Business seeks two individuals, one to focus on entrepreneurialism and venture capital, and a second to direct the International segment of the curriculum. Applicants must be capable of assisting in developing the graduate level program and promote strong experiential cooperative learning. Experience must be exhibited in leadership, development of student academic excellence and building relationships with business constituents outside the university.
The Graduate School of Business will enroll its inaugural class of 30 students this August. The school is a satellite to the main campus. It is located within a new state-of-the-art financial center in the downtown business area. The program offered is a fast-track, three-year degree available to undergraduate students at the conclusion of their sophomore year.
Core elements of the program embrace world economic systems, quantitative methods, managerial economics, applied leadership, and negotiation and conflict resolution. The third year of the program will be heavily experiential as a cooperative program with major state businesses. Successful applicants are required to be on staff by mid-July to August 1, 2008, to accommodate the fall semester start in late August.
