The University of Charleston invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry, beginning in the fall of 2007. Excellent skills in communication and classroom presentation are expected. The primary responsibility for this position is to teach general chemistry and upper-level courses in physical chemistry. The candidate is also required to direct undergraduate research, advise students, and share teaching duties in inorganic chemistry courses with other faculty members.
Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in chemistry with an emphasis on physical chemistry is required. Preferred qualifications include college-level teaching experience, experience in program planning and development, and the desire to teach undergraduates in an outcomes-based institution.
