To our new students and their parents and family members, welcome to our University of Charleston Golden Eagle family! We are thrilled that you have chosen to continue your academic career at UC. As the Dean of Students at UC, I can tell you from experience that this is a place where you can learn and grow, not just as a student, but also as a person.
Attending our New Student Orientation program is a crucial first step toward academic success as a University of Charleston student. On this page, you will find the Freshman Student Orientation Schedule and the Transfer Student Orientation Schedule. The freshman and transfer student orientation is a more in-depth orientation for our students. We do welcome parents and families to attend the Induction Convocation on Friday, August 23rd at 5 p.m. in the Riggleman Hall Auditorium. During the Induction Convocation, our new freshman students will be officially welcomed to campus by the President and will learn more about their experience as a student at educational UC.
During Orientation students will begin their University course, they will socialize and learn who their classmates are, and they will meet many of our returning students who they will be on campus with. Our goal during orientation is to help students be more prepared for their first day of class and learn all about being a student at the University of Charleston.
Congratulations on your decision to join the Golden Eagle Family at the University of Charleston, and thank you in advance for joining us for this very important orientation program at UC. We will see you soon!
