WV Prevention First to Launch Help & Hope WV Initiative
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The West Virginia Prevention First in collaboration with the WVDHHR Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities, the West Virginia Office of Drug Control Policy, and the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy will host a press conference to celebrate the launch of the Help & Hope WV Initiative. This event will be held on Monday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. in the Erma Byrd Gallery on the campus of the University of Charleston. Officials will showcase the new Help & Hope website and additional tools about the importance of substance abuse prevention throughout the State.
Prevention First is a proactive, comprehensive stance to demonstrate the importance of substance abuse prevention throughout West Virginia. Prevention First and Murphy Media will present their exclusive media content initiative at the press conference on Monday. Tim White, Regional Prevention Coordinator at Prestera Center said, "The West Virginia Prevention First Network in partnership with Murphy Media and Terzetto Creative is excited to launch a one-of-a-kind media content strategy that links local information, social media, state and national resources and data, in one place in real time. This new initiative becomes the hub of information, resources, and educational links that really propel the State of West Virginia ahead in our efforts to curb the tide of substance abuse."
Representatives from the six regions of the Prevention First Network will be in attendance to share information about the continuing work across the state in substance use disorder prevention programs and activities in their regions.
