University of Charleston School of Pharmacy Hosts Summer Camp for Students interested in Pharmacy


(Charleston, WV) –High school juniors, seniors, and college undergraduate students are invited to attend the 2018 ExRx – Experience Pharmacy - Bootcamp at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy (UCSOP). The camp runs from Tuesday, June 19 through Friday, June 22, 2018.

The intense four-day schedule of activities is led by UCSOP faculty and staff.  Students will have hands-on immersive experiences in the UCSOP IV lab, compounding lab and simulation lab. Other sessions include Careers in Pharmacy, Patient Consultation, Mock Pharmacy, Travelogue of a Tablet, History of Pharmacy and Medication Adherence. In addition, students will be provided a platform for discussion and preparation in pursuing a profession and education in pharmacy.  Activities such as, career roundtables, mock interviews, and providing guidance when applying for college and pharmacy school will be included.

Evening activities will include an ice cream social, a service project, s’mores on the riverbank, movies, pizza and a STEAM art activity.

Space is limited and interested students are encouraged to register.  The Early Bird May 28, 2018 registration fee is $99.00 per student.  The fee includes meals, lodging in UC residence halls, linens, towels and all activities.
