University of Charleston Health Sciences Post Exceptional Pass Rates

Charleston, W.Va. – the entire cohort of Associate of Nursing Degree students at University of Charleston – Beckley recently passed the NCLEX-RN exam with a 100% pass rate.  The Bachelor of Science in Nursing students on the Charleston campus did the same. And the UC Occupational Therapy Assistant program posted a 93% pass rate on its professional certification test.

“With the shortage of nurses across West Virginia and the country, we are proud that our University of Charleston nursing students are well prepared to enter the profession on day one due to the excellent nursing faculty,” stated Pamela Alderman, Dean of the Bret Bradford School of Health Sciences and Chair/Director of the Capito Department of Nursing. “For the third straight year the BSN program has been named one of the top ten nursing programs in WV by RegisteredNursing.Org. Our third place ranking is due to the excellence of our program.”

The University of Charleston currently offers several programs in its School of Health Sciences.

For those interested in nursing, UC offers a traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, the ADN weekend program in Beckley, and an online RN-BSN program, which allows licensed RNs to continue their education online at UC to earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. With the addition of a weekend program on the Charleston main campus that started in the fall of 2018, the Capito Department of Nursing now provides students with many opportunities to earn their nursing degrees.

The University also offers a Radiologic Science degree in Charleston. On the UC-Beckley campus, OTA and the ADN program are joined by Radiologic Technology.
