University of Charleston Announces Enrollment Increase


Charleston, W.Va.  –The University of Charleston has announced its largest enrollment in 47 years, with a total of 2481 students enrolled this fall. This includes an 11% increase in the incoming freshmen class, the highest since 2010, and an 8% increase in the University’s Leadership and online programs.

Ed Welch, UC President, stated, “It is gratifying to see increased interest in the University of Charleston at a time when there are economic challenges in WV and intense competition for students.  The continuing enrollment growth of the University is a tribute to the faculty, staff, and administration who are serving the students well.”

The University of Charleston has increased the student body by 1500 since 2005.
