11/18/2016
(Charleston, WV) – the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy hosted over 50 high school students from Clay County and Nitro High Schools who participated in the 2016 We the People competition. Students demonstrated their understanding of constitutional principles and had opportunities to evaluate, take positions and ultimately defend those positions on relevant historical and contemporary issues during a simulated congressional hearing. Rebecca Tinder, attorney at Bowles Rice, facilitated the event.  Local attorneys acted as judges.  Teachers, Philip Dobbins—Clay County High School and Kizmet Chandler-Nitro High School accompanied the students.
